MYP

The Middle Years Programme “MYP” is one of four International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes. It is designed for students aged 11 to 16 it allows students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world, Colegio Americano de San Carlos is currently in the process of seeking authorization to implement the MYP at the secondary level.

This program aims to train young people to be eager for knowledge, our students are actively learning all through their school years. Empathy is promoted between the members of the learning community by fostering an international mentality, it offers the student purpose and meaning toward life.

In this way, the MYP provides the necessary tools for the student to inquire about issues of local or international importance. This is so young people can develop learning skills, as well as become creative, critical and reflective thinkers.

MYP offers us the advantage that the student can establish a relationship between the contents of the eight subjects that they study allowing them to develop various interests and academic skills that help them implement and show in a practical way what they learn during each of their years of study
and reinforced in the various subjects.
